Frequently Asked Questions

What is an Interferential IFC unit?

An Interferential IFC unit is a low frequency treatment device that uses two medium frequency currents which interfere with one another to produce a beat frequency, that the body recognizes as a low frequency energy source. The major use of IFC is to accelerate the inflammatory or healing rate of a patient. IFC unit's frequencies which vary from approximately 80Hz to 120 Hz are considered most effective for acute pain, while lower frequencies of 2Hz to 5Hz to 10Hz are preferred for treatment of chronic pain patients.
