What is a N.M.E.S.?

N.M.E.S. stands for Neuromuscular Stimulation and is used by physicians and physical therapist for treatment in muscle rehabilitation. Specific muscles or muscle groups are targeted for treatment, which creates muscle contraction, to aid in the re-use of atrophy muscle groups due to accidents, strokes or surgery. With the use of N.M.E.S., patients recovery from disuse muscle disorder, move more quickly to normal function and resumption of normal activities. N.M.E.S. also helps by increasing blood flow to muscle groups, increasing range of motion, strength as well as muscle endurance.
